*GROAN*

More survey.  I DO have a serious blog post in the works, though.  Should hopefully be posted tomorrow.  Promise.

Hey, I said I'd post each day in October.  I never said they would be thought provoking posts.

Awkwardly Intriguing Questions

1. What’s a question you’re afraid to ask?  To whom?

How do you really feel about me?  This could basically be to anyone that knows me.

2. What’s something you hide about your personality?

My horrible temper.  Unfortunately my family knows it all too well.

3. What’s something other people think about you that you don’t agree with?

That I'm an alcoholic.  I like to drink, but I also know my limits, no matter how much bullshit I talk.

4. How do you deal with criticism?

I don't deal with it well.  It hurts me, and I find little ways to make it known.

5. What’s the sweetest thing anyone’s ever done for you?

Actually get to know the real me.

6. What’s the sweetest thing you’ve ever done for someone?

Oh hell, I don't know.  I don't think I've ever done much for anyone.

7. What’s something sweet you’d like someone to do for you?

Love the real me, and not my different façades.

8. Who would you say is your “anti” role model? Someone who serves as a warning rather than an inspiration?

My mom's sister.  I won't say much more beyond that, but most people know why.

9. What’s your least “politically correct” opinion?

That being PC all the time doesn't work.  I'm a raging liberal, and I believe this.

10. What’s one of the most difficult things you’ve ever had to do?

Watch my aunt waste away and finally die from cancer.  I still don't like to talk about it, mainly because I know I'm in no position to really feel the way I do.

11. What’s the most infuriating thing your parents (or caregiver) do/did?

I've always felt that they loved my sister more than me.  It might just be my insecurities, though.

12. What did you think about before you fell asleep last night?

How quickly our lives are changing now that my husband is almost Mr. PhD.

13. What’s the oddest term of endearment you’ve ever used or that someone’s used for you?

I don't have any odd ones that I call people.  However, I've been called a few that are utterly hilarious.  "Lovemuffin" comes to mind.

14. What motivates you in life?

My son.  Always my son.

15. What was something you used to enjoy, but was ruined for you? What’s the story behind that?

My love for John Cusack.  My friend decided to tell me the story about John and his armpit fetish.  So I looked it up.  It is apparently true.  I died.

Then I figured that I have some weird fetishes myself, so I shouldn't judge.  So yeah, I'd still do him, even if he wanted to spooge on my pits or whatever.

16. How do you think you will fare when the Zombie Apocalypse arrives?

Dead in five minutes.  I can't run, I have no skills.  I'd be gone.

17. Write a brief story about an actual adventure you’ve had.

I don't have a lot of adventures.  I'm pretty adventure-free.  That sucks.  I need to change that.

I mean, there was that one time that I flew across the country to meet a guy that I only knew from online talking, but I lived.  He wasn't a psycho.  I had a blast, too.  Then we got stuck in a parking garage in D.C. on Labor Day weekend and we had to manually lift the gate and slide his truck through.  But that was about it.  So I guess that's sort of an adventure....?

18. Describe one of the most awkward experiences of your life.

Meeting my now in-laws for the first time.  They didn't like me, so I froze up and wasn't as awesome as I could have been.  They still don't like me, but whatever.

19. What’s something that scares you about the future?

Wondering if my husband will be able to find a job after graduation.  But I'll get more into that in my next post.

20. List 5 quirky things about yourself.
  • I love dyeing my hair strange colors.
  • My passion right now is reading stories about haunted places and such, even though I'm not a believer.
  • I will sometimes bust into random dance moves for no reason.
  • Birds.  I watch them constantly.
  • I am the queen of Googling random shit.
21. Describe your dream library.

Books.  Books galore, with a big, deep chair in front of a fireplace.  Now leave me alone.

22. What’s the weirdest item you’ve ever mourned?

My vibrators.

23. Do you have any “rules” about food?

Yeah.  Try not to eat the good (bad) stuff, fail miserably, feel guilty, make an eating plan, stick to that for two weeks, then repeat.  Luckily, I've gotten better about it.

24. What’s your opinion on age differences in relationships?

If you two are happy, then that's it.  Never mind what other people think.

25. What’s something you want to do that you’d be embarrassed to tell other people about?

Go on a cruise around the world.  On a freighter.  It is a real thing.

26. Describe a time/event in your life that you’re nostalgic for.

The 80s.  I know there was a lot of turmoil in the world at the time, but it was still wonderful for me.  I was just a kid, but some of my best times happened during that decade.

27. How do you approach social situations?

I don't.  I run and hide.  I'm too damned shy.  Unless I've been drinking.  But I can't wander around drunk all the time, so.....

28. What is your ideal bed? Why?

One that is comfy, with mounds of pillows.  It also has to support my back, because I'm getting oooooold.  Plenty of room, since my son and the dog tend to pile in on weekends.  Crisp sheets, soft blankets and quilts.  Yeah.

Why?  I don't know why.  It just sounds lovely.

29. Post a haiku based on your life.

Not much of a life,
I need to change that A-SAP,
Maybe some good sex?
